Michal Szafarski, known in the digital art world as CyberSea, is a software architect and generative artist with over 15 years of professional experience. Born in 1989, he completed his studies in Game Programming in 2015 at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, where he explored the intersection of coding, art, and storytelling. His art journey started as a miniature painter, where he had many successes.
Privately, CyberSea is both a geek and a nerd with a deep love for fantasy and science fiction. As an RPG storyteller, his last campaign has been ongoing for over 10 years, reflecting his passion and dedication. His experience includes playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire: The Masquerade, Warhammer, among many others. Additionally, his talent extends to miniature painting, where he has achieved significant success. The influence of all of this can be easily seen in his generative artworks. He combines it with his strong technical background to create his art, producing complex compositions that always tells a story.

As a nerd following the cyberpunk ethos, discovering on-chain decentralized art was an eye-opener for him. The possibility of preserving his art and creations for eternity was a mind-blowing discovery. And he was not alone in thinking that way. He soon found communities of people with similar points of view, like gmDAO, CyberBrokers, Grailers, Vivid, or OCM. He also took role of art curator in gmDAO & VIVID Gallery embracing this web3 cyberpunk rebellious ethos deeply and started pushing it with his art.
Following the major success of his BANG! collection, he turned his focus to the Bitcoin Ordinals ecosystem, which he found to be a perfect medium for generative art and technical experimentation. His Genesis Bitcoin collection, Deus Ex Machina, pushed the limits of the medium by being the first to use Bitcoin data through recursive endpoints and present it in a distinctly artistic way. The collection's significant market success helped cement CyberSea's position as a innovative artist working with Bitcoin.
His most recent project, Enigma, advanced his technical exploration even further. The collection deeply investigates the possibilities of data-driven narrative art, blending a Bitcoin-centered storyline with blockchain education and cutting-edge innovation. Created in close collaboration with major art-forward communities such as Vivid and OnChainMonkey, Enigma is a bold and defining contribution to the growing "Art on Bitcoin" movement.
